Syracuse, N.Y. -- In the week after he lost his apartment and nearly all of his family's belongings to a fire, after warning his neighbors and getting his son out safely, former Syracuse and Dallas Cowboys football player Antonio Anderson racked his brain for what he might have done differently.
At around noon on Jan. 6, Anderson was home with his 5-year-old son Grayson, when his his son ran out of a bedroom, followed by a cloud of smoke. Anderson raced into the room, finding a bed on fire.
While Anderson faced the fire and tried to figure out his next stop, Grayson, who is autistic, kept following his father into the bedroom and back into danger.
