Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse football offensive tackle Jamar McGloster is signing with the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent, he confirmed to Syracuse.com.
McGloster started at right tackle for the Orange in 2016 and 2017, developing into a leader on the offensive line after arriving as a relatively unheralded prospect. The New Jersey native was spotted by SU at a spring camp at Milford Academy in New Berlin, N.Y., and ultimately signed with Syracuse.
After redshirting in 2013, McGloster played sparingly as an underclassman while he filled out his 6-foot-7 frame. He showcased his potential as a professional going up against some of the best pass rushers in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
