Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse football linebacker Zaire Franklin was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round (235th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Franklin was the second three-time captain in program history and a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. He never missed a game in his Orange career, starting his final 39 contests at middle linebacker and racking up 311 career tackles -- the most for an SU defender since Kelvin Smith (2003-06).
A strong performance at SU Pro Day raised Franklin's stock during the pre-draft process. He slimmed down to 239 pounds, ran a 4.
