Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse football assistant coach Bobby Acosta has been hired to coach Cornell's wide receivers and tight ends, a source told Syracuse.com.

Acosta spent the last two seasons working under ex-SU head coach Scott Shafer. He coached tight ends in 2014 before moving to wide receivers, his natural position, last season. Acosta, who is well connected in the New Jersey high school community, also served as the Orange's recruiting coordinator in 2015.

Before coming to Central New York, Acosta spent one season as the head coach at Widener, a Division III school in Chester, Penn.
