Syracuse, N.Y. -- Steven Clark's return to football lasted one season.
After an arduous medical disqualification process at Syracuse, the defensive tackle was cleared by Western Michigan's team doctors and transferred to Kalamazoo last summer.
But in the second-to-last week of the season, Clark was tackling a ballcarrier from behind when he came down awkwardly on his right leg. He damaged the tendons in his knee and was soon dealing with similar clotting issues to those that left him without the opportunity to play in Central New York.
"Because of how everything was handled back at Syracuse, there was still residual scarring that I had," Clark said in a phone interview on Thursday.
