Former Syracuse basketball star Tyler Lydon plays well in return to NBA after surgery

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Tyler Lydon, whose 2017-18 season was cut short by a knee injury, returned to the court for the first time on Friday in the Denver Nuggets' NBA summer league opener.

Lydon, Denver's first-round pick in the 2017 NBA draft, suffered a torn MCL in his left knee last January while playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA's G-League. The injury required surgery and ended Lydon's rookie season.

On Friday, Lydon started and played 21 minutes in Denver's 70-69 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Las Vegas. He put together a solid well-rounded game.
