Former Syracuse basketball guard Malachi Richardson traded to Toronto

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Malachi Richardson, the former Syracuse basketball guard, has been traded to Toronto for Raptors forward Bruno Caboclo.

The deal was reported via twitter by Shams Charania and confirmed by an NBA source. Richardson, selected with the 22nd pick in the June 2016 NBA Draft, has spent nearly two years in the Sacramento Kings organization.

He has played sparingly for the Kings since being drafted, Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic plugging the shooting guard spot that is Richardson's natural position.

Richardson, a 6-foot-6 guard who played almost exclusively at small forward during his one season with the Orange, has split time between Sacramento and the team's G League affiliate.
