Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse basketball center Rakeem Christmas has signed a contract to play in Turkey.
The team announced the deal today on Twitter. Stephen Pina, Christmas' agent, confirmed it in a phone conversation.

Christmas was waived by the Indiana Pacers on July 6. Pina said the contract with Galatasaray was for one year, which would permit Christmas to display the skills that would make him attractive again to NBA teams.
