Ex-Syracuse lacrosse star named MLL goalie of the year

Rochester Rattlers goalkeeper John Galloway has been named 2016 Brine Goalie of the Year for Major League Lacrosse, as voted by MLL coaches and general managers.

The former Syracuse University star earned seven first place votes and 60 total points to receive the title. Behind Galloway, Boston's Tyler Fiorito finished in second with three first place votes and 30 points while Ohio's goaltender Scott Rodgers earned two first place votes and 27 points.

A starter in 13 games for the Rattlers, Galloway finished the regular season with an 8-5 record.
