Ex-Syracuse football DT Steven Clark medically disqualified at Western Michigan

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse football defensive tackle Steven Clark was medically disqualified by Western Michigan before the start of spring practice.

Clark, who transferred from SU following a controversial disqualification last summer, said he will remain at WMU as a student and assist the Broncos coaching staff this season. He declined to share the reasoning behind the DQ at WMU.

Clark's disqualification from Syracuse was in relation to a genetic disorder, Factor V Leiden in one gene, that makes him more susceptible to blood clotting. The disorder was discovered after Clark sustained a knee injury in practice and was given a brace that was too small for him, he said previously.
