Erstwhile Syracuse Sharpshooter Demetris Nichols Wins Euroleague Championship

For the last two years, former Syracuse Orange forward Demetris Nichols has been playing professional basketball for PBC CSKA Moscow. In just his second season with the team, the 31 year old Nichols won the Euroleague championship with CSKA which was the team's first championship since 2008.

Although he only played a total of six seconds in the team's win over Fenerbahce in the championship game, Nichols secured the game's final rebound just before celebration began. Nichols suffered a broken foot in what is considered the Euroleague's Sweet 16 which limited his playing time. Prior to injury, Nichols averaged roughly 13 minutes per game, scoring 4.
