Syracuse, N.Y. -- It was Mark Twain who once stated reports of his death were greatly exaggerated, and so too such a sentiment radiated off Eric Dungey, one week after being benched, his starting job threatened, as the senior quarterback returned from the brink of being momentarily cast aside to emphatically mint a scintillating bounceback performance.
A week removed from being yanked in the final 5 minutes of a one-score game, watching from the sideline as his understudy delivered a spark to win an overtime thriller, Dungey was forced into the uncomfortable position this week in practice of having to prove he could be trusted with the keys to Dino Babers' offense ahead of Saturday night's game against North Carolina State.
