To fans of Syracuse basketball, Eric Devendorf is a name that is still very familiar. Devendorf, who played with the Orange for four seasons from 2005 to 2009, has spent the last two years as Syracuse’s assistant strength coach.

Well now, in an effort to continue a career in coaching, the former Orange guard has decided to leave his current position with the school. Instead, Devendorf will be the special assistant to the head coach at the University of Detroit Mercy this year.

According to Syracuse.com, it’s still unknown at this point if his role with Detroit Mercy will include him being a part of the school’s coaching staff on actual game days.
