Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football head coach Dino Babers declined to share many significant details about his quarterback situation after SU's 40-37 double-overtime win against North Carolina on Saturday.
About an hour before Babers took his place behind the podium in the Carrier Dome, SU redshirt freshman quarterback Tommy DeVito replaced senior Eric Dungey late in the fourth quarter and led SU back from a seven-point deficit.
DeVito threw three touchdowns, completing 11-of-19 passes for 181 yards and an interception.
"It's not a permanent change," Babers said. "It was we needed a spark, and obviously the other guy came in and did some things well.
