Dino Babers: SU football wasn't ready for 'emotional rollercoaster' of Scott Shafer's return

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Dino Babers owned Syracuse football's 30-23 loss against Middle Tennessee State here Saturday afternoon, saying he failed to get his team prepared for a game in which many of its players were facing their former coach.

"There's nobody to blame but myself," Babers said after the loss to the Blue Raiders, whose defensive coordinator is Scott Shafer, Babers' predecessor.

"It's my job to get them ready. They weren't ready. We didn't handle the emotional rollercoaster of all the stuff that was brought into this game, and all the blame should be put right here.
