Dino Babers was a guest on NBC Sports radio with Newy Scruggs on Tuesday, and said some very interesting things about his arrival and tenure with the Syracuse Orange. Most notably, that only one person told him he should come to Syracuse, and that was former Baylor head coach Art Briles.
"A lot of people told me not to take the Syracuse job. Only one person told me to take it and that's a person I listen to as lot. That was Art Briles."
Babers then went on to praise Briles as a coach and a person, crediting a lot of his successes to his mentor.
