Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse lacrosse's defenders knew Albany's attackers weren't dodging to score as a tie game between the two squads wound down to the final two minutes in the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
Instead, the offensive players were trying to draw the early slides from an extra defender like they did in the first half to create open shots.
So when Albany attack Justin Reh dodged to the left of the cage with about 90 seconds left in a tie game, Syracuse defender Scott Firman stayed at home in front of the crease. Reh slung as pass through the center of the field and Firman stuck out his pole to pick it off.
