Syracuse, N.Y. -- As the rest of his teammates shuffled out of the Carrier Dome on Monday night, Maryland sophomore Kevin Huerter returned to the floor he'd just lit up, reuniting with an array of familiar faces.
Huerter dropped 23 points for Maryland in a 72-70 loss, giving the Orange all it could handle but ultimately coming away with a defeat. As he returned the court, a little of his basketball persona faded and he returned to being a son, friend, classmate and teammate.
Huerter, a sophomore who graduated from Clifton Park High School, took photos with family members wearing Maryland shirts, friends wearing Shenendehowa High School apparel and even a couple of old teammates rocking Syracuse shirts.
