Syracuse (10-6, 0-3 ACC) fell 74-73 to Clemson (9-6, 2-1) at the Carrier Dome on Tuesday night, dropping its third consecutive game to begin ACC play in the process. Here are three takeaways:
1. Syracuse can make 3s and still lose
In its previous five losses this season, Syracuse never shot better than 33.3% from beyond the arc. It made 29.2% of its 3s against Wisconsin, 25.9% against Georgetown, 19.2% against St. John's, 33.3% against Pittsburgh and 31.8% against Miami.
There was a strong case to be made that if the Orange had just made a few more 3s in each of those games, they would've won each.
