City of Syracuse will increase enforcement of illegal parking during SU football games

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The City of Syracuse will increase its enforcement of illegal parking during the Syracuse University football team's next two home games after seeing more illegal parking on the surrounding streets and in Thornden Park this season.

In a press release, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced that police officers assigned to direct traffic before and after games will be utilized to enforce illegal parking during the games.

They will enforce Syracuse's alternate side of the street requirements and will also ticket in Thornden Park, where traffic barrels will be placed to prevent illegal parking. Vehicles that are blocking driveways, illegally using handicap spaces, parked within 10 feet of a fire hydrant or blocking public safety equipment during the games may be towed.
