Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse football All-American tight end Chris Gedney will be posthumously honored among the 2018 Syracuse LetterWinners of Distinction this fall, the university announced Thursday.
Gedney and the four other recipients will be honored at a dinner Nov. 8 at the Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center. They will be recognized during that Friday night's football game against Louisville.
"Chris was more than just a football player," Syracuse Athletic Director John Wildhack said in a press release.
"He was a beloved husband and father, a loyal friend, and in every sense a member of the Syracuse family.
