Syracuse, N.Y. -- Why is the Syracuse Orange playing an exhibition game against Southern New Hampshire University?
It turns out that Southern New Hampshire had an operative inside the Syracuse basketball office.
Charlie Russo, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, is a junior guard at Southern New Hampshire. Last season, Russo played in 28 games and made 43 percent of his 3-point shots.
But last summer, Russo returned to Syracuse where he got an internship in the SU basketball office.
In addition to performing duties related to SU's basketball camp, the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation and the annual Fantasy Basketball Camp, Russo also did what he could to put together an exhibition game between the Orange and Southern New Hampshire.
