Can Syracuse basketball get out and run more this season?

Syracuse, N.Y. - Jim Boeheim said his Syracuse basketball team will likely take fewer 3-point shots this season and "not be as effective from the 3-point line" as last year's Orange squad.

"We'll have to adjust and find some other way to attack," he said.

One of those ways could be transition opportunities.

Both scoring and pace of play have improved in college basketball since the advent of the 30-second clock in 2015-16. Syracuse has ranked near the middle of the college basketball pack in the past two seasons in terms of pace on offense, according to KenPom.
