The NFL's cutdown day was good for Cam Lynch and bad for seven former Syracuse players trying to make it in the NFL.
Lynch, who was an undrafted free agent in 2015, got the best news of the day when he was not among the players released as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got their roster down to 53 players.
Lynch carved out a place in the NFL during his first two years playing primarily as a special teamer and, while those abilities like played a role in him making Tampa Bay's roster again, Lynch has reportedly progressed to the point that he is in consideration for a starting linebacker job.
