Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse can't do anything further to help its NCAA Tournament chances. With the 78-59 loss to North Carolina on Wednesday night, the Orange is out of chances to improve its resume.
Syracuse was included in some projected brackets before the UNC loss. Those projections are unlikely to drop Syracuse for losing to a team that it was expected to lose against. But the Orange also came into the night left out of other projections and needing a big win over the Tar Heels to move the needle. Those projections are also unlikely to change.
So Syracuse is now left to hope that a resume that includes 20 wins, an excellent strength-of-schedule and relatively few bad losses is enough to earn the benefit of the doubt on Selection Sunday.
