Brooklyn - He swiped at the basketball in the first half. Afterward, Brandon Triche felt a quick pinch of pain, looked down at his shooting hand and saw his pinky finger contorted into an odd configuration.
"It was literally sticking up," Triche said.
"It looked like the Syracuse 'S' logo," said Boeheim's Army general manager Kevin Belbey.
So Triche sat for a bit on Thursday night, as his The Basketball Tournament squad slugged it out with Team Fancy, a $2 million payday dangling in the balance at LIU-Brooklyn.
But Boeheim's Army needed Triche. They needed his experience, his toughness and at the end of the game, they needed him to essentially win them a basketball game.
