Before there were 999 wins, Jim Boeheim's 1st victory came with little fanfare

Syracuse, N.Y. -- He's been 40 years, and then some, on the Orange bridge, often barking, sometimes flailing, always thinking ... forever making a sage of the fella who said that "time does not pass; it continues."

Because that has been the story of Syracuse University basketball since Jim Boeheim coached his first game -- and earned his first victory, a 75-48 conquest of Harvard -- over Thanksgiving Weekend back there in 1976.
