Back issue puts Syracuse women's basketball star on the defensive

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Miranda Drummond's versatility presents the Syracuse women's basketball team with a lot of different options when she's on the floor.

But Monday, Drummond flashed a look that the Orange never wants to see: her in street clothes while her teammates practiced.

The senior forward sat out the practice under orders from head coach Quentin Hillsman so that her sore back could get some rest. Drummond is expected to miss Tuesday's workout as well with the hopes that she'll be OK to play Wednesday when Maryland Eastern Shore visits the Carrier Dome.

Drummond scored 17 points and snagged 10 rebounds in a win over Towson on Sunday.
