Syracuse, N.Y. -- There are a lot of ways for a coach to motivate a player.
This year, Gerry McNamara found the best way to motivate Andrew White. The Syracuse assistant would beat White, a fifth-year graduate transfer, in competitive shooting games prior to the Orange's practices.
"I'm ashamed to say on camera, GMac has gotten me a lot in practice,'' White said. "When it comes to that, I don't like him too much.''
McNamara, the former Syracuse star, might not get up and down the court the way he did back in his playing days, but he still possesses a deadly jump-shot.
