Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse may become a benefactor of North Carolina's NCAA violations.
With sanctions yet to be levied in the academic fraud investigation, UNC is tightening up its enrollment standards and that meant denying admission to safety signee James Pierre, according to Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High School head coach Jevon Glenn.
On Wednesday, Pierre will visit Syracuse and could decide to make a commitment quickly, Glenn said.
"Syracuse is definitely out in front," Glenn said.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Pierre is rated three stars and the No. 48 safety in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.
