Syracuse, N.Y. - Over three years after committing to Syracuse, Matthew Moyer finally played in his first game for the Orange in Friday night's season-opener against Cornell.
Moyer made up his mind to play for Syracuse in August of 2014 before his junior year of high school.
Two years later, Moyer arrived on the Syracuse campus, but suffered an injury to his right foot during a summer workout. The injury put him behind the rest of his teammates and by the time the 2016-17 season opened, the decision was made for Moyer to redshirt the year.
So Moyer sat out last year, participating in practices, but watching the games from the end of the SU bench.
