Charlotte, N.C. -- John Swofford climbed up a couple steps and walked to the podium for a press conference that would open the Atlantic Coast Conference's annual media day.
Behind Swofford was the open expanse of the Spectrum Center's arena bowl where the ACC will hold its men's basketball tournament next March.
Swofford read off some opening remarks and then for the next 45 minutes, the ACC commissioner answered questions about the state of college basketball.
Topics ranged from the trial resulting from the FBI's investigation into illegal recruiting to the impact of the ACC's addition of two games to its conference schedule in the 2019-20 season.
