After falling behind early, the No. 1 Syracuse field hockey team (5-0, 1-0 ACC) answered with a goal in the first half and two in the second to down No. 18 Boston College (1-3, 0-1 ACC) 3-1 in the ACC and home opener for the Orange.
It was a special occasion for SU, which raised its 2015 NCAA championship banner prior to the game and honored 2015 Honda Award recipient Alyssa Manley at halftime, and the Orange didn't disappoint.
The Eagles jumped ahead early after Boston College's Brittany Sheenan redirected a ball from Eryn McCoy into the net, tipping it past Orange goalie Regan Spencer just 12:40 into the game for a 1-0 lead.
