After losing four of its last five regular-season games, Syracuse needed to beat Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament to keep its NCAA hopes alive. The Orange's hopes were fading as it fell behind by 12 points with four minutes remaining. Syracuse rallied, using a full-court press, and tied the game on Michael Gbinije's breakaway dunk with 1:58 left. But a late turnover and a missed shot left Syracuse behind 72-68. Syracuse pulled to within 72-71 with 6.6 seconds remaining and had one final shot. The ball went to Trevor Cooney, but his last-second 3-pointer hit the rim and bounced away.
