Syracuse, N.Y. -- One of Syracuse football's top targets in the Class of 2018 committed elsewhere on Monday.
Chance Amie, a dual-threat quarterback from Robert E. Lee (Tyler, Texas) High School, chose in-state Houston over the Orange and other finalist North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4, 191-pound Amie is rated three stars and the No. 29 dual-threat quarterback this cycle by 247Sports.com's composite ratings. He also received offers from Virginia, Rutgers and Iowa State, among others.
Amie completed 97-of-180 passes for 1,556 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season, per East Texas Sports Network. He also carried the ball 183 times for 1,265 yards and another 17 scores.
