Brighton and Birmingham are both hoping to lure former Swansea City striker Eder back to English football.
The Portugal international, who famously scored his country's extra-time winner against France in the final of Euro 2016, is currently at Lille.
However, after managing just six goals in 31 Ligue 1 games last term, the French club are now reportedly looking to offload the 29-year-old before the window shuts.
And, according to L'Equipe, Brighton and Birmingham have both made contact with Lille about a potential deal.
But the two English sides would rather sign Eder on loan while his employers are hoping to sell the forward in a £5m permanent deal.
