Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson set for £25million Tottenham return as club look at Ross Barkley alternatives

Tottenham are considering a shock move to re-sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea.

Sportsmail understands that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino believes that the former Tottenham playmaker could be a better and cheaper alternative to signing long-term target Ross Barkley from Everton.

Pochettino has been keen on Barkley for months and still rates him highly. But the Tottenham manager knows that Everton want up to £50million for the 23-year-old and is now considering a £25m move for a player he always believed should never have been sold in the first place.
