Swansea City stalwart Alan Curtis was told by text message he was no longer part of the club’s coaching team.
Hours after the Premier League strugglers appointed Paul Clement as manager, Curtis learned in a series of text messages from chairman Huw Jenkins of the decision to axe him. This was despite Curtis orchestrating a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Tuesday as caretaker manager.
Sources close to Curtis, 62, said on Thursday night he was surprised by the move, having been part of the first-team set-up under the past four managers. Swansea stress he has not been ‘sacked’ from the club and he can have a ‘job for life’.
