Swansea City failed to break down the impregnable Middlesbrough back line and had to settle for one point in what was a relegation six-pointer.
The hosts dominated possession, but were mostly kept to shots from distance as Jordan Ayew and Gylfi Sigurdsson were denied by Victor Valdes and Tom Carroll hit the side netting.
Boro could have won it at the death, but Rudy Gestede headed wide.
