Swansea 2-1 Southampton: Gylfi Sigurdsson strike makes it three wins from four Premier League games under Paul Clement

Out of the stench of their season finally comes a trace of hope. Swansea seem to have found their first reliable manager in three and with it a fighting chance of surviving.

This was their second win in three league games under Paul Clement, and the third in four if you count the victory on the day he was unveiled and turned up on the touchline halfway through the game against Crystal Palace.

This win was not only the first case of Swansea taking back-to-back wins, but also a rare example of them showing the backbone to overcome adversity, considering Southampton were threatening to overrun the Welsh once Shane Long had cancelled out Alfie Mawson’s first-half header.
