Sunderland have identified Swansea left-back Neil Taylor as an alternative for their problem left-back position.
Patrick van Aanholt has agreed to join Crystal Palace but David Moyes wants to ensure he gets a player in before signing off that deal completely.
Sunderland have asked about Bryan Oviedo at Everton but with Ronald Koeman reluctant to sell in this window, Moyes has also discussed Wales international Taylor as an alternative.
Taylor starred at Euro 2016 for Wales, playing at left wing back as Chris Coleman's men made it all the way to the semi-finals.
