Southampton have had the last laugh on and off the pitch against Swansea as they fight for Premier League survival.
The Saints secured a vital 1-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium which has all-but ensured they will remain in the top-flight, with the Jacks left in the third relegation spot.
But 24 hours earlier the clubs had become in embroiled in controversy with the Swansea Marriott Hotel cancelling the south coast club’s reservation at extremely short notice, although manager Mark Hughes was quick to quash talk of the Welsh side being involved in the matter.
