Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea played out a drab goalless draw on Saturday in the FA Cup fifth round as Carlos Carvalhal was denied a winning return to his former club.
Adam Reach nearly put the Owls ahead in just the third minute but his effort inside the area was smartly saved by Kristoffer Nordfeldt. The affair was tight throughout but on 37 minutes, Mike van der Hoorn nearly broke the deadlock for the hosts but his header was brilliantly saved by Cameron Dawson.
The second half lacked any real excitement, with both teams cancelling each other out well, meaning Swansea, who could do without any more games as they look to retain theirPremier League status come the end of the season, will have to host the Owls in a replay at the Liberty Stadium.
