Premier League table: How important is it to be top after just one game played? Find out here

Once upon a time no top flight league table was published until at least three games into the season, but these days it's done as soon as possible.

That means after just one match of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, Manchester United sit top courtesy of a 3-1 win at Bournemouth, which gave them a goal difference just one better than six other clubs also on three points.
