Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has backed Paul Clement to succeed at Swansea City and "can understand" his move from the Bundesliga champions to the Premier League strugglers.
Clement served as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant for 329 games, winning trophies at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
But after just six months as Ancelotti's No. 2 at Bayern, the English coach opted to take up the challenge of keeping Swansea in the Premier League.
"It's a shame for us that he's not here anymore but of course I can understand Paul Clement's view that he wanted to accept the offer from the Premier League," Neuer told The Set Pieces.
