With Francesco Guidolin's job possibly on the line, Swansea's players stepped up and put in a performance that the manager could be proud of as they more or less held their own against Jurgen Klopp's impressive Liverpool in a 2-1 loss. Whether their renewed effort will have been enough to save the Italian's job remains to be seen.
Positives
When Guidolin first came to Swansea he instructed his side to play an aggressive high press, hunting for the ball in packs and balancing positivity with defensive responsibility. Few of those qualities had been on display so far this season, so it was encouraging to see a return to basics on Saturday.
