Last Sunday's crazy 2-2 draw with Chelsea was notable for a number of reasons, but perhaps most intriguing was Francesco Guidolin's decision to play a 3-5-1-1 formation.
It was a high-risk move given the calibre of Swansea's opposition on the day, but has seemed inevitable ever since the Italian was appointed manager back in January. Guidolin has long favoured the 3-5-2 and its variants -- a formation he used to achieve most of his success in Serie A with Udinese -- yet Swansea have been a 4-2-3-1 club for quite some time, with each of their Premier League managers largely employing the same shape.
