Francesco Guidolin tells Fernando Llorente he can win Spain recall after Swansea transfer

Striker Fernando Llorente can use his move to Swansea to get back into the Spain squad, according to Swans boss Francesco Guidolin.

The 31-year-old completed his £5million switch to South Wales earlier this month and impressed on his debut as his new team kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Ex-Juventus and Sevilla forward Llorente appeared to revel in the physicality of England's top flight and he had a part to play in the goal as his header was saved by Tom Heaton before falling into match-winner Leroy Fer's path.

A World Cup winner in 2010, Llorente was not named in Spain's squads for the 2014 World Cup or Euro 2016, yet Guidolin believes he could force his way into new La Roja boss Julen Lopetegui's plans by impressing with his club.
