Former Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed his interest in buying Charlton Athletic after launching a £1million takeover bid.
Dubai-based East Street Investments, led by Tahnoon Nimer and Matt Southall, bought the Addicks from Roland Dutchatelet in January but promptly fell out before the EFL launched an investigation into the takeover in April.
With a tax bill and players' wages due at the end of the month, ESI are looking to sell but Jenkins admitted his period of exclusivity has expired with former Watford owner Laurence Bassini also considering a bid for the club.
Jenkins said: 'Charlton have a number of things attached to the club with the current owners, past directors and past owner.
