Gylfi Sigurdsson has admitted the transfer market is ‘crazy’ but believes he started repayment on his £45million transfer with a wondergoal on his full debut.

The Iceland international, a club record signing, struck a sensational long-range volley as Everton progressed to the group stages of the Europa League after a 1-1 draw at Hajduk Split gave them a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Sigurdsson, whose fee has been criticised by some, joined those who think the sums being paid are excessive.
